Wonderful
art deco Ivory art deco sculpture by Theophile Somme. (1871-1952).
This sculpture
is important art deco item for two reasons. First because most
of Ivory figures are Art Nouveau style. Almost never Art Deco.
This one is without doubt strong art deco. (face, Hairs, Braces)
Second reason why this sculpture is very important : The size that
is 9"¾. (Usually these figures are less than 6")
Ivory figures
are unique items that are really more hard to find than bronze figures.
Excellent condition. Ivory
is of course pre 1973 Cites - Washington convention. Ivory on
this figure is circa 1920 and I will give buyer a certificate). Ref - Somme Price
on request.
