Colinet "The Magic Links"

Very hard to find bronze sculpture by famous sculptor Claire Jeanne Robert Colinet : "The Magic links". Silver plated bronze. Onyx signed basis. Reference : Brian Catley book p119. 16cm x 9cm x 6cm ( 6.3" x 3.5" x 2.3").


Claire Colinet first studied sculpture with Jef Lambeaux in Belgium, then moved to Paris. In 1913 she exhibited for the first time at the Salon of French Artists, where she has been present regularly. In 1929 she was elected a permanent member and did for the occasion the sculpture "Dreams are soap bubbles". From 1937 to 1940 she exhibited at the Salon des Independants in Paris and joined the Union of Women Painters and Sculptors. In her work, Claire Colinet is often inspired by biblical or historical facts. She uses  patinated bronze and sometimes inlaid with precious stones. His sculptures are published by Edmond Etling, Arthur Goldscheider and nephews J. Lehmann. His last exhibition was held in 1945.
