Strong art deco tall 54cm/21" bronze bust of a faun by famous French sculptor Maurice Guiraud Riviere.
Black marble base.
Signed in the bronze. Foundry mark.
Excellent condition. A rare find.

Maurice Guiraud Rivière was a painter, designer and sculptor who studied at the Paris École des Beaux-Arts and exhibited at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français and the Salon des Humouristes during the 1920s and 30s. His main subjects were dancers, athletes and horses, usually in theatrical poses and captured in motion.
