A rare art deco lamp.
Fixture made of wrought iron and bronze.
Glass panel are acid etched glass. Not signed but indubitably by Daum. (Very high quality work. Paul Kiss used to fit his lights with Daum glass parts).
Top sand blasted glass panel is optional as this lamp was not designed to receive anything on the top. (Nothing to attach it).
Stunning quality of wrought iron work and bronze chasing.

Circa 1925. Excellent condition. Signed "Paul Kiss, Paris" in metal.

Biography: Ironworker born in Belafalva in Romania, Paul KISS first travels in Central Europe and then settles in Paris, where he will spend his whole career. Its production often gives an impression of wealth with soft and lush decorations. At the end of the 1920s, stylization, the cubist spirit and abstract motifs entered his work. His technique hammered wrought iron is very characteristic. Cited in 1922 with lamps and various objects exposed to the Artists Decorators, he participated in the Exhibition of Decorative Arts in 1925 with his personal stand located on the bridge Alexandre III. His own exhibition gallery and workshops are located at 2 and 4, rue Léon-Delhomme in the 15th arrondissement in Paris. Around the same time, he worked for Paul Poiret and gave him a console with a mirror. In 1926, he realized "the feat of composing a complete furniture of a wrought iron piece: table, console, lighting and seats. The furniture is now frequently included in its shipments, along with home furnishings and numerous chandeliers, floor lamps and lighting fixtures.
