Philosophy

Jean-Noel Cabanettes, your host, has been collecting art deco since the age of 15, and he cultivates both a specific view on the subject, and a confidential network that enable him to find the best items at reasonable prices every time.

In 1998, he created his first site offering art deco. Flipping through the pages, you’re invited to share his universe impregnated with authenticity and eclecticism. FrenchCab, going beyond a simple antique gallery, is a 10 point philosophy:

1 – Authenticity and quality of the objects

Our great experience in search of art deco pieces enables us to easily identify the copies that invade the market. Needless to say, you won’t find any on this site. All the pieces that we offer, unless otherwise mentioned, are original 1930’s pieces. Sometimes it happens that, as in all the great museums and collections, the pieces have been restored. These restorations do not detract from the value of the objects - quite the contrary. Whenever we can detect such restorations, we mention it.

2 – Reasonable prices

Many sites, in particular the specialized portals, offer art deco pieces at absurd prices. We believe the best way of effectively developing our business is to offer the right pieces at the right prices. Our sales margins are no greater than those of any retail business, and because we want you to become regular customers, we accord a great deal of importance to our competitiveness. You certainly won’t find pieces at one-tenth their price on this site, but you will often see them at half the price of the outcomes of large international auctions. And if you see one at double the market price, you have the right to tell us! We like to know when we’re not good.

3 – Well-sharpened logistics that have been put to the test

Before making his passion his trade, FrenchCab Gallery founder Jean-Noel Cabanettes held several important positions in one of the largest motor logistics sector companies in France. His training as a transportation engineer and his job experience naturally contribute to ensure you the best service in the packaging and shipping of your orders… even the most delicate ones.

4 – Secure means of payment

We accept the following types of payment: Paypal, Cashier’s checks, and Transfers. All these means of payment provide a perfect traceability.

5 – The right to make a mistake

Because we think you have the right to change your mind, we accept returns of goods. Only the shipping charges will remain at your expense. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied upon receiving the object, send us a message and we will inform you about our return policy.

6 – Easy terms of payment

Because a passion has a price, we very easily accept spreading out payments. All you have to do is tell us what your possibilities are, and we will immediately answer concerning the feasibility.

7 – Transparency of transactionsin the eyes of the authorities

We declare the full value of goods we send anywhere in the world. Customs charges depend on your country’s laws. Items over 100 years old, for example, canbe imported to the U.S. duty free.

8 – Confidentiality of transactions in the eyes of our customers

All transactions that you carry out with us will remain confidential. We never give the names of our customers to third parties, and the sales prices are erased from our site. Upon request, we can remove the objects that you purchased from our visible data bases on the site.

9 – A human relation

Sometimes internet transactions prevent the establishment of normal human relations. We try as much as possible to favor informal relations. Therefore, we did not want to have either a “shopping cart” system or direct purchase on our site. Send us your messages. Jean-Noel Cabanettes, not a robot, will answer your requests in person.

10 – Exceptional services for the most demanding customers

Are you looking for an exceptional service for exceptional customers? Are you looking for an expert to accompany you during your business trips to France? Do you want to organize specific logistics for a specific work? Do you have a project in the art deco universe? Don’t hesitate to contact us. We like new ideas.
