Agustin Riganelli is an important Argentinian sculptor of the 20th century. Many of his works are presented in museums. An entire section is dedicated to him at the Museo de Artes Plásticas Eduardo Sívori in Buenos Aires. Although he mainly worked in his country, he also traveled, notably to Paris in the 1920s, and he was in contact with many artists from the Paris school. He has been the subject of numerous personal exhibitions and has participated in numerous group shows. In Paris in 1926, the first fine arts fair in Argentina was held at the Tuilleries. Riganelli exhibited his works there. It is not surprising to find in the treatment of our vase all the inspiration of Parisian art deco presented at the Decorative Art Exhibition of 1925.
