This iconic sculpture by the Master Demetre Chiparus exists in three sizes. The smallest is around 30cm, the largest is just over 70cm, and our example measures 55cm. A study of sales results over the last 15 years in auction databases shows that our version is by far the rarest. We only found two sales results, whereas there are dozens for the large version. The rarity of this artwork, its quality of chasing , and especially its superb patina enhanced with enamel, make it an important piece whose balanced dimension makes it easy to display.
