Raymond Rochette was born May 25, 1906 in the family house built by his grandfather, the house is oddly located on the borders of the mighty Le Creusot and vast forest Morvandelle. During his teens, he attended school Schneider, Mr Dif courses in technical drawing and charcoal. In 1921, Raymond Rochette made his first oil paintings: they represent the landscape of the Morvan and scenes of rural life: work in the fields, woods, quarries granite ... subjects which will always remain sensitive. His first painting exhibited in Paris, "harvest" in 1929 appears in "Salon des Artistes Français". For 70 years, the thirst to paint Raymond Rochette remained insatiable, a landscape, a face, fruit, simple objects, but fascinated his gaze. His works are in many collections : the city of Paris and a dozen museums in France and abroad .
He died December 26, 1993, in the house where he was born.
In 2006 (the centenary of his birth), his friends and the formal structures of the Burgundy region have organized many exhibitions. His paintings are currently kept in the dungeon of the village of Saint Sernin - of - wood, and the museum in Le Creusot - Montceau, his house, kept intact since his death is now open to the public. In addition to special exhibitions in galleries in France, retrospectives are being planned in various museums in France and abroad.
