DESCOMPS, JOSEPH. 1869 - 1950
French Sculptor, born Joseph Emmanuel Descomps - Cormier in Clermont-Ferrand on the 18th January 1869. Studied under Hiollin and exhibited in Paris at the Salon des Artists, he won medals in 1921, 1925 and 1928. He also exhibited at the Salon d'Automne and the Tuileries. He specialised in figural statues, mainly ladies. Signed his name - Joe Descomps and sometimes signed Joseph Cormier.
