    Jumo lamp

Circa 1940. Bakelite, copper, chromium plated metal. Excellent condition.
    Works fine. 7.25″w x 10.75″d x 20″.

For the first half of the 20th century, the French created the most avant-garde lights available, partly owing to the efforts of the Jumo firm.
This streamlined desk lamp is a great example of the Machine Age and includes a pivoting shade that folds into the plastic base.
The shade can be angled in several directions and also can fold down into the base.
