Augustin Carrera was born in Madrid in 1878 and died in Paris in 1952.

A French nationality painter, a student of Bonnat and Henri Martin at the School of Fine Arts in Paris, he executed the ceiling of the foyer of the opera of Marseille.

He exhibited at the fair in 1904, then the Salon des Independants and the Salon des Tuileries where he entered nudes, portraits, flowers, landscapes and views of harbors and also entered them at the Salon of French Artists, the Independent Artists, Tuileries (1927-1933).

It is in his southern views that he shows the most passion as a colorist. Carrera surprised by the liveliness of his palette, made violent and bold tones, tawny (Fauvism).
