Impressive architectural stone panther / jaguar.
Circa 1930. Not a molded or reconstructed stone but a true hand carved "blue stone" from Belgium.
("Pierre Bleu du Henaut". Henaut is a part of Belgium).
About 140cm width.
About 400kg weight.
Perfect for a garden or inside deco.

These life size sculptures are extremely hard to find moreover when art deco style.
The sculpture we propose here was in Belgium Antwerp. We have made many researches to try to find where it was displayed and who could be sculptor. Private or public place ? (Zoo ? Acclimatation garden). Belgium in 1930's was very active country in arts and especially in sculpture area.
Several sculptors could be author of this wonderful sculpture, but nothing sure at this point.
Anyways a strong are deco line sculpture. Unique and impressive.
