Garino Angelo, brother of the painter Carlo, abandoned his technical studies in 1875 to join the Doyen lithographic factory. He subsequently enrolled at the Albertina Academy, under the guidance of Pier Celestino Gilardi, but was forced by economic constraints to abandon his academic studies. He dedicated himself to genre paintings, pleasant subjects characterized by careful observation of nature. In 1879 he presented First Impressions to the Società Promotrice di Belle Arti in Turin, where he remained constantly present until 1893. He exhibited in Milan, Venice and other cities. Towards the end of the 19th century he settled in Nice where his works soon enjoyed notoriety and the market on the Côte d'Azur due to his sensitivity to the Liberty and floral stimuli of the early twentieth century.
