Claire COLINET, rare and tall bronze egyptian dancer
Claire Jeanne Roberte COLINET (1885-1972)
Egyptian Dancer'
A Large Patinated Bronze figure, circa 1925
modeled as a nude female in gilt Egyptian head dress, standing on an amphora vase, posed lent forwards with arms outstretched balancing two balls on the back of her wrists. Green marble base.
Signed to the bronze 'C.J.R. Colinet', stamped '15'.
Excellent condition.
52cm high.
This sculpture is rare. I just found a similar one auctioned at Bonhams in 2011 for more than 5000eur but with an onyx amphora. Not the signed bronze one that is on our piece. As always with colinet, wonderful foundry quality and precise chasing.
